Petroleum products are items obtained from crude oil (petroleum) after it has been refined. Petroleum products are complicated mixes, as opposed to petrochemicals, which are a collection of well-defined, typically pure organic components. The majority of petroleum is turned into petroleum products, which include various types of fuels.

Because petroleum includes a small percentage of sulfur-containing compounds, elemental sulphur is frequently manufactured as a petroleum product. Petroleum products may also contain carbon, in the form of petroleum coke, and hydrogen. The hydrogen generated is frequently used as a byproduct in other oil refinery operations such as hydrocracking and hydrodesulfurization.

Petroleum waste byproducts are used to make approximately 6,000 goods, including fertiliser, flooring (floor covering), perfume, pesticide, petroleum jelly, soap, vitamins, and several vital amino acids.
